What is ColumbusParty.com?

We're a local (Columbus, OH) online entertainment magazine. Our main focus is all the entertaining people, places, and things in and around Central Ohio.

How did it start?

A group of close friends from Cleveland graduated from high school in 99 and went to 5 colleges from around Ohio. They were all looking for a way to share drunken photos from house parties and stories about the girls they were meeting at school. Eventually 2 of the guys from OSU started spending more time at the bar then class, and it just made sense to use the site for something more. So... we started posting event flyers for our buddies at the bar and got a handful of hot students on campus to host parties for us.

How do you choose the stuff you cover?

For the most part people email us (info@columbusparty.com) when they hear about something cool or just want to plug something they're affiliated with. Normally if we know something cool is coming to town, we'll try to send out or photographer or a writers.

The venues and people we work with also advertise their own stuff through our Event Page and ad banners on the site. And we try to sponsor as much non-profit stuff as we can with advertising to help out peoples fundraising efforts.

How can I get involved?

We're never formally hiring, but we're always looking to work with cool and creative people.

Who runs ColumbusParty.com?

That would be me... Moodley. I'm the guy that updates the sites, calls the bars we work with, and even writes this FAQ. I moved down to Columbus to go to college and was lucky enough to work for Playboy Magazine as a college marketing rep. After about three years at Ohio State University I finally dropped out and took the last $200 I had in my bank account to start my own company. The entertainment company I started actually owns the site and runs all of our productions. I figure I'm a pretty normal guy... I distract myself at work with MySpace, I sometimes drink to much, and I love good Thai food. Free free to stalk me: www.myspace.com/moodley
